Al and I were out on the Streetbarker Jaunt

I meant to say that Aloofus my White Wolf was born in the wilds near here, first raised a few kilometers south of these photos.

This is where he first came to live with me! The Pump House is my first short story, not entirely fiction!

Yeah, he was the talk of the walk, today! Girls can't resist trying to reach for him! Man are they ever bold today! One might even say brazen if I didn't enjoy it so much.

Al is doing great in crowd. After all, he is a well domesticated, but wild animal. Being able to walk in crowds down Robson Street is an amazing feat for him. When we tried it after first arriving 4 years ago he could only stand one block of it at a time! Today it was 6.5 hours of crowds!

He is a sweetheart, very timid, as wild wolves are in our world.

The wonder of it is, that he trusts me fully. This stirs my soul! What a lovely creature and he follows me willingly!

He is still playful, rambunctious with a same sized dog, a bit younger is his preference. Al is my ambassador and I could not have bonded with him if I weren't at my present level of personal self confidence and maturity. He is timid around crowds of people, especially if they are reaching for him. I don't mind him being so. A few people get it, because they understand Wolves. I'm the alpha! he doesn't protect me. A, person with less self confidence might have tried to "harden" him up with rough treatment. He wouldn't still be with me if I had not been extremely patient with him. He has taught me so much!

It didn't take long for him to get used to my booming voice, today. I knew Aloofus was good with it all, because he never tried to steer me down a side street, as he does if he's had enough. This whole thing between him and me is teamwork with playful tension. He is constantly trying to be alpha in a playful way, always pushing, but finally submitting when I admit that he is special.

Walking with him downtown Vancouver doing the Streetbarker thing is as much fun and challenging for me as a cross country hang gliding flight was.
